Hailing from Philadelphia, Mike Bishop is a producer, composer, arranger, sound designer, and music educator teaching and creating for scholastic, collegiate, and independent artists and organizations worldwide. Mike has designed or served on the education faculty for such notable groups as Carolina Crown (2013 DCI World Champions), West Chester University Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band, Western Carolina University Pride of the Mountains Marching Band, United Percussion, Rhythm X & The X Academy, European X (Netherlands), Spirit of ’52 (Germany), The Company Performance Ensemble (UK), Crossmen, George Mason University, Cedar Park HS Timberwolf Band, Redline, Blue Stars, Paradigm Percussion, and was a founding member of the Board of Directors at Invictus World Guard in Austin, TX.
As a producer, Mike is experienced in working with songwriters, editing & creating soundtracks for podcasts, radio & tv commercials, dance teams, and color guards, as well as samples and sound effects for the pageantry arts. He has composed and arranged hundreds of works for various scholastic, collegiate, independent, and corporate programs.
Mike is a signed artist with Yamaha (musical instruments), Zildjian (cymbals), Vic Firth (sticks & mallets), and Remo (drum heads), as well as a member of both the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America and Quaker City String Band. He has presented educational clinics and masterclasses at Music For All's Bands of America Summer Symposium, the Texas Bandmasters Association Annual Convention, Western Carolina University Summer Symposium, West Chester University Incomparable Marching Band Workshops powered by Vivace, and throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan.
Mike proudly serves on the Education Committee for the Philadelphia chapter of The Recording Academy (GRAMMYs). As a self-made professional, Mike believes wholeheartedly in remaining a lifelong student. He’s excited to graduate with a degree in Music Production from Full Sail University in May of 2024.
